Tyler Patmon leaves Kansas football program

Junior cornerback Tyler Patmon has decided to leave the Kansas football program.

Patmon announced his plans to leave the Jayhawks via Twitter on Thursday evening.

“Wherever the Lord takes me for my last year of college ball I’ll be thankful no matter what !!” Patmon wrote on the social media website.

Kansas coach Charlie Weis is on the road recruting, but thanked Patmon in a statement released by Kansas football official to the Kansas City Star and Lawrence Journal-World.

“Tyler is scheduled to graduate from KU in May,” Weis said. “We appreciate all that he has done during his time at Kansas and wish him well.”

Patmon had 52 tackles, three interceptions and started all 12 games this season. During his time with the Jayhawks, he made 28 starts in the 35 games he played.
