The President of Colombia and University of Kansas alumnus Juan Manuel Santos visited the University on Sep. 24 to accept the Alumni Distinguished Achievement Award, the most prestigious award given by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, from which he graduated in 1973 with degrees in economics and business. Santos visited with students and spoke at a public forum about his college days and Colombian politics.
