Kansas hosted the Elite Long Jump event Thursday afternoon April 18. Due to the cold and wet weather the event was relocated from downtown to the Douglas County Fairgrounds. The event had eight athletes competing against one another in the long jump event and Janay DeLoach took the event with a jump of 6.7 meters.

Stanisha "Nisha" Lott, known by her stage name, Nisha Star, used freestyle to convey her emotions in her performance.

Big Event volunteers provide a helping hand to Lawrence residents by completing projects in their neighborhoods.

On Saturday, April 13th, the Big Event connected 3,000 University of Kansas students, faculty and staff with the Lawrence community by sending volunteers to work at more than 400 local job sites.

KU Athletics hosted the annual Kansas Football Spring Game Saturday afternoon April 13. KU’s 2013 season will begin on Saturday Sept. 7 against South Dakota.

The Jayhawks took on St. Mary’s Wednesday night at Hoglund Ballpark in Lawrence, KS.  The Jayhawks won the ballgame 3-0 and are now 16-11 overall. Sophomore Drew Morovick got the win and junior Jordan Piche recorded the save.

“Intimate Apparel,” written by Pulitzer Prize-winner Lynn Nottage, tells the story of Esther, a seamstress in the early 1900s who makes intimate apparel for a living.
